Fire & rescue have been called. Very smokey on footway. @HeadingtonNews
An eyewitness, who wishes to remain anonymous, spotted the fire when walking along the road.
They said: "I have no idea how the fire started but it caught hold very quickly and for a few minutes was well ablaze and could’ve posed a real danger to adjoining houses.

"When I first saw the smoke and flames, it looked like they were coming from St Andrew’s School which was very worrying.
"As I got closer I could see the fire wasn’t at the school.
"By this point I was opposite the fire and could see that it was a tree on fire, not a house, but it was well ablaze and it was a worry that the fire could spread to neighbouring houses."
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue has been contacted for more information.
