A south Oxfordshire barber shop which was rocked after a car drove through its storefront has reopened.
Millbrook Barbers in Grove, near Wantage, closed earlier this year after a Vauxhall Corsa went into the building on Tuesday, January 23.
The business run by couple Ben and Jo was forced to close after the damages caused when a red hatchback had partially entered the shop in Millbrook Square.
“Our lives were turned upside down by an unexpected crash that caused destruction to Millbrook Barbers and caused the doors to close for six months,” they said.

“As you can imagine, we were absolutely devastated to see the shop ruined and the business having to take such an impact over this period.”
The pair have spent thousands of pounds on renovations following the crash in order to sure up the shop for customers.
“Our blood, sweat and tears have gone into making sure the shop opens to the public again,” revealed Ben and Jo.
“At some points, we didn’t think we were going to be able to re-open due to running into troubles with previous works carried out.

“We have had to spend thousands to put it right, but we have stuck by each other and put all our money into making the shop so special.
“It’s safe to say that we may be eating beans on toast for a month, but we are both so proud that we can now open the doors to our loyal and friendly customers once again.
“We also want to take the time to thank Tattoos by Laura and Sidor Tattoos for their cooperation and understanding.”
The shop reopened on Tuesday, July 16, with Ben and Jo being able to welcome back customers after their absence for over half a year.
“It was the first day back open after six months off and we are overwhelmed with the response we have had,” said the couple.

“The shop is back and in full swing and we are seeing a lot of friendly faces coming back.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in helping put the shop back together.
“You really have delivered such an incredible shop and we can’t thank you enough for your hard work and commitment.”
Businesses in Oxford were also rocked by a similar incident in the same month as a black Vauxhall SUV crashed into two shopfronts on Iffley Road during the night of Saturday, January 20.
Chinese takeaway Tsang’s Kitchen and pizza restaurant Turtle Pizza Café were badly damaged in the collision, which saw no injuries.

Both businesses, like Millbrook Barbers, have reopened at a great cost, months later with major refurbishments.
