The latest court cases in Oxford Magistrates' Court:

FAIDA ELHABIB, 30, of Grenoble Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to one count each of theft from a shop and assault by beating. On May 30 this year, he stole bottles of Jack Daniels to the value of £205 from Sainsburys in Oxford and the following day he assaulted a man in Oxford. He was jailed for 14 days. There were no orders for costs.

GARY EVANS, 32, of Harlech Close, Banbury, pleaded guilty to possession of a pointed article in a public place, namely a pair of scissors, at Banbury Police Station on July 21 last year. On the same day, he was caught in possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis. He also pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely a police officer, on the same day. He was given a community order to abstain from alcohol from 120 days and was made subject to electronic monitoring. He was also ordered to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity and to pay £150 in compensation. A forfeiture and destruction order was made for the drugs. There were also court costs of £400.

SCOTT THOMAS, 36, of Laburnum Close, Ambrosden, Bicester, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Bicester on October 16 last year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £300. There were court costs of £300 and a victim surcharge of £120.

BRADLEY MILLS, 21, of Mather Road, Headington, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug, namely a quantity of cannabis, in Burchester Avenue, Oxford on May 21 this year as well as possession of a bladed article in the same place, namely a folding pocket knife with a blade exceeded three inches. He was given a four-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to complete a 30 day specified programme and 15 days of rehabilitation activity. A forfeiture and destruction order was made for the drugs. There was also a victim surcharge of £154.

KASIM HUSSAIN, 31, of Albert Road, Stechford, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Banbury on January 30 this year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £80. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.

JUSTIN CUNNINGHAM, 46, of Sherwood Avenue, Abingdon, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Steeple Aston on February 1 this year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £400. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £160.
