St Hilda's College welcomes back its annual Crime Fiction Weekend.
This much-anticipated event, held from August 9 to August 11, is set to engross crime fiction enthusiasts with a packed programme of talks, panels, and activities.
This year's theme, A Dance to the Music of Crime: the artful path to murder, dissects the integral role music and performance play in popular stories ranging from Sherlock Holmes to modern musical sensations like the Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers.
The guest of honour for this literary event, Elly Griffiths, is celebrated for her Dr Ruth Galloway series and The Brighton Mystery series.
Her standalone The Stranger Diaries won an Edgar Award, highlighting her remarkable influence on the genre.
She was awarded the CWA’s coveted Dagger in the Library in 2016.
The event will include keynote speeches from acclaimed authors, insightful panel discussions on crime writing aspects such as plotting and character development and engaging interactive sessions including Q&As and book signings.
Attendees will also enjoy exclusive previews of upcoming releases, offering direct insights from authors about their inspiration and creative processes.
St Hilda's Crime Fiction Weekend not only celebrates the genre but also provides a valuable platform for aspiring writers to learn and grow.
The event beckons both crime fiction fanatics and novice writers, offering something enticing for everyone.
Tickets, available on Eventbrite, are on sale until July 26.
