A cafe attached to a video arcade has been handed the second lowest possible score for hygiene.

The Old Bank Cafe at Arcade Didcot in Broadway was inspected on May 31 and rated one star, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Inspectors said major improvement is necessary in cleanliness and the condition of the building and facilities, including layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control.

Hygienic food handling and management of food safety were 'generally satisfactory'.

In contrast Piccolino in Henley Market Place, Notcutts Garden Centre in Nuneham Courtenay, Connect Catering at Johnson Matthey Technology Centre at Sonning Common, Pierreponts Cafe in Henley's Reading Road, Henley, The Crown Inn at Sydenham Road in Sydenham, GAIL's in Cornmarket in Thame, and Rachel's Cafe in Cockcroft Road in Didcot were all awarded the maximum five

And it was good news for two takeaways.

Cook Trading in Duke Street, Henley, and Farmhouse Pizza Didcot at Broadway in Didcot also got top marks.
