Members of the Bicester Triathlon Club took part in the Swansea 70.3 Half Ironman event on Sunday (July 14).

A Half Ironman is one of a series of long distance triathlon races organised by the World Triathlon Corporation.

The total miles covered in a Half Ironman is 70.3, consisting of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run.

Charlotte Mackenzie finished with a time of seven hours and 10 minutes, Claire Thomlinson with six hours and 45 minutes, Debbie Gilbert with seven hours and 14 minutes, and Graham Frogley with six hours and six minutes.

Mark Burrows and Graham Hazleton won second place in the relay classification despite numerous team changes due to illnesses and other life disasters, with a finish time of five hours and 36 minutes.

Jo Hooks, Steph Harrison and Zane Berzina made up a relay team which came fourth in six hours and 55 minutes
