Banbury library could be moving into the former Wilko unit in the town centre.
According to Oxfordshire County Council, a "new opportunity has been identified" in the unit which was last used by Wilko, located at 23 Bridge Street.
Wilko permanently closed last September after the administrator collapsed, meaning the unit has been empty for 10 months.

The council says this building would have enough room to house the library, as well as additional space to fulfil other Oxfordshire County Council needs.
This means it could also provide office space for the registration team having to relocate out of Bodicote House.
The library is is open to the public 52.5 hours a week and last year had almost 79,000 visitors.

The existing Banbury Library is in a Grade II listed building leased by the council in Marlborough Road, which the council says "is too small, in a poor location, listed, in poor condition and is considered unsuitable for the delivery of a modern library service".
The council also say there are "issues around the heating system creating health and safety concerns" and that "it is considered imperative to move colleagues into a more viable space".
The council previously considered moving into the Castle Quay shopping centre, which is opposite the Bridge Street shop and owned by Cherwell District Council.
