Two children have been involved in a car crash in Oxford city centre this weekend.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon in the Rose Hill area of the city as a red Fiat 500 made off from Thames Valley Police officers.

After being chased by the force, the car crashed into another vehicle leading to more police and ambulances flocking to the area.

The police have now revealed that the other car had four people inside during the crash including two children.

A spokesperson for the force said: “It was a man, woman and two children in the other car.

“Any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43240332490.”

A 17-year-old boy from Oxford was arrested at the scene for various driving offences

He was held in police custody on Saturday but officers confirmed on Sunday that the suspect has been released on investigation.
