A power cut has left a Tesco supermarket and thousands of people without electricity in Oxfordshire.
The incident first occurred at around noon on Sunday afternoon as houses and businesses across Abingdon were left without electricity.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) has revealed that 9,867 customers are currently affected by the major power cut.
Among those affected is the town’s Tesco superstore on Marcham Road as well as properties on town roads such as Ock Street and Preston Road.

Customers have also been left without electricity just hours before England play Spain in the UEFA Euro 2024 final.
A spokesperson for SSEN said: “We're aware of a power cut in the area shown, affecting 9,867 homes.
“This unplanned fault is affecting a large area, and it's likely several streets in your area are affected by the same power cut.
“Engineers have arrived at 12.20pm and have got straight to work on investigating the fault and attempt to restore your power.

“We will continue to update this message with any new information but, at this stage, we're aiming to have your power restored by 1.30pm.
“The cause of this power cut is a fault on our underground network, the most common type of fault we see, and our teams are very experienced in dealing with these issues.”
