Multiple bus services between Oxford and Heathrow Airport have been cancelled after a "major disruption".

The Oxford Bus Company said in a statement that some services would not run today (Saturday, July 13) due to a closure on the M25.

A spokesperson for Oxford Bus Company said: "Due to the M25 closure, we are experiencing major disruption, as a result, Airline services are currently experiencing delays of up to 50 minutes and we expect this to fluctuate but continue.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience during this time."

Five minutes later the spokesperson added: "Due to major disruption along the Airline route and unforeseen circumstances, our 1.10pm Oxford to Heathrow and 3.05pm Heathrow to Oxford services will be unable to operate.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The company has been hit with a series of cancellations this month.

A spokesman for the company previously told the Oxford Mail that the number of cancellations was not unusual but that the service was still a top performer for customers.
