Pupils at Northbourne Primary School, Didcot, put on their thinking caps and dreamed up all sorts of ideas to raise money for charity.
One group in 1988 opened a White Elephant stall and charged friends 3p to hold Daffy the hamster, 1p to feed him and 2p to look at him. They raised £10.30 for the Enid Blyton Trust.
Nine pupils gave £10.50 to the World Wildlife Fund after making and selling bookmarks, pom-poms and other items. One of them, Jonathan Smith, said: “We like animals and heard the pandas were becoming extinct and thought we should raise some money.”

And four girls spent 11 hours together working on a colourful patchwork cushion for use by the elderly at Didcot Hospital.
Headteacher Dianne Steele said: “I am very proud of them.”
