Oxford Mail Camera Club winners have been taking lots of close-up photos of their favourite subjects.

That was our latest weekly theme, and it prompted a wide variety of pictures, including those of insects, birds, pets, other animals and flowers.

With so many club members showing off their technical skills it was tough to pick a winner but in the end we decided to pick Bryan Robertson’s striking shot of Ranah the lion staring at him at Cotswold Wildlife Park.

Each week camera club members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page.

A selection are picked to feature in the Oxford Mail and in The Oxford Times and one photo is chosen as photo of the week.

For more information about camera club and how it is run visit the club’s Facebook page.

The next theme is ‘long exposure’.
