Axe throwing, rock climbing, and crazy golf are some of the activities lined-up for a fun day this weekend.

Banbury Town Council will host the mayor's fun day at People's Park on Sunday, July 14.

The town's residents can enjoy a leisurely ride on Lennie the Land Train - a rail-less miniature locomotive offering a scenic tour of the park.

There will be performances from acts such as Stagecoach, the NOA Samba Band, the School for Stars, Leigh Chambers, the Danielle Buick Dance Academy, while Puritans Radio will be on hand to finish up the day with some classic radio hits.

There will also be a dog show, run by both Banbury Town Council and Dogs for Good, a charity specialising in providing service dogs across the county.

Owners can enter their pets for a small fee, with prizes for the scruffiest dog, the dog who looks most like its owner, and other categories.

Other paid activities will include go-karting, funfair rides, and a wide variety of food and drink vendors.

Families have the option to pay for these extra events, but there will be plenty to do without spending any money.

The event is just one that Banbury Town Council’s has planned for this summer, with more set to take place over the course of year.
