Thames Valley Police has said an elderly woman from Chinnor has been found after "extensive searches".

Anne, aged 86, whose surname has not been disclosed, had last been seen at around 2.45pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, July 10). 

Police said extensive searches in the area were conducted overnight and on Thursday morning.

But a statement from the force confirmed she had been located at around 1.30pm.

It said: "For those in the Chinnor area looking for missing person Anne, she has been located. Our thanks to the many volunteers who have assisted in our search."

Superintendent Matthew Bullivant said: “We are very concerned about Anne’s welfare, and we are appealing for anyone who has seen her, or who has any information which could help us locate her, to get in touch as soon as possible.

“Anne may appear as slumped over and be confused about her surroundings in an unknown location.

“Anne is in need of medication, so it is important that we locate her as quickly as we can.

“I am appealing to anybody with information regarding her whereabouts to please report this via our dedicated missing persons’ portal, quoting reference 1617 of today’s date (10/7).

“If you see her, please call us on 999.”

South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse local policing area commander, Superintendent Lewis Prescott-Mayling, said: “We are still appealing for help to find Anne as we are very concerned for her welfare.

“We conducted extensive searches in the area overnight and will be renewing these this morning.

“But we still need anyone who may have seen Anne or has doorbell or CCTV cameras in the area or was driving there and has a dashcam to please call 999, quoting the reference number 1617 of yesterday’s date.”
