Blenheim Palace is inviting visitors to enjoy a picnic at its grounds this July.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site in Woodstock has named its top spots to savour a meal outdoors as it marks National Picnic Month.
One option is the formal gardens, which offer views of the water terraces as well of the great lake thanks to the accessible path from the West Courtyard.
The gardens are also home to the roundel - a water fountain and ornamental pond often referred to as 'the roundabout'.
Film enthusiasts may recognise the Cedar of Lebanon Tree, which stands on the bank of the great lake, from the 2007 film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Meanwhile, the lawns surrounding Vanbrugh's Grand Bridge, which separates the great lake from the queen pool, offer what has been described as "the finest view in England".
The walled garden, surrounded by the butterfly house and the Marlborough maze, is another option, while the cascades, designed by the famous landscape architect Capability Brown, in the 1760s, offers another charming site near the water.
There are several places to enjoy food and drink around Blenheim Palace, including The Oxfordshire Pantry, The Stables Café, The Walled Garden Pizzeria, which offers woodfired pizzas, pasta, salads and meatball subs, and the Snack Shack in the Adventure Play family attraction.
