An Oxfordshire couple will be walking 800km in Spain to fundraise for disadvantaged children in India.
The couple from Steeple Aston, Emily and Greg Elphick, will walk the Camino de Santiago at the end of August.
The former police officers aim to gather donations for The Hope Foundation (HOPE).
Mrs Elphick said: "We heard about The Hope Foundation whilst watching Sue Perkins travel across India in the BBC programme 'The Ganges.'
"We were inspired to support a child who lives on the streets.
"Over the last few years, we have seen the difference HOPE makes to children's lives."
She was eager to take on a challenge to mark the start of her life after a 30-year police career.
The couple has kickstarted their efforts with a JustGiving page.
HOPE originated 25 years ago by Irish humanitarian Maureen Forrest and helped 13 young vulnerable women off the streets in Kolkata.
The organisation now has 57 programmes and has positively impacted three million individuals.
Juliette Whittaker, head of fundraising at HOPE UK, said: "We are very grateful to Emily and Greg for taking on this epic challenge to raise funds and awareness for HOPE.
"Please do support them if you can, by donating to their fundraiser, as the funds raised will help make a positive difference to the lives of many disadvantaged street-connected children in Kolkata, India."
