Airspace restrictions will be in place over Blenheim Palace and London Oxford Airport for the European Political Community meeting on July 18.

Thames Valley Police is working closely with partners to ensure the event, hosted by the UK Government and bringing together numerous leaders from across Europe, passes safely with minimal disruption to the local community.

From July 14 to 18, there will be restricted airspace for aircraft including drones over and around the palace and the airport, except for emergencies.

Inspector Simon Hills, from our Joint Operations Unit, said: “We have a significant security operation in place at Blenheim Palace with the visit of leaders from around Europe.

“As is typical for events of this scale, we are putting in a significant airspace restriction to keep the attendees and the local community safe.

“We will be using police drones and support from the National Police Air Service in the area to enforce the restricted airspace.

“This is part of our layered security plans around the meeting to keep the attendees and local community safe.

“We will have options available to us to enforce these restrictions and deal with anybody who fails to adhere to the restrictions.

“If you notice anything suspicious in the air or on the ground, please report this to police. You can speak to an officer, make a report online or call 101. If something is taking place now, always call 999."
