A museum located at a school in Oxford is launching a new exhibition with special guest Nigel Powell.

The Rumble Museum at Cheney School will hold the Technology through Time exhibition on July 19, from 4pm to 5pm.

The event showcases the development of music, computing, and telecom technology, displaying items like a vinyl stamper, a phonograph with cylinders, a BBC Micro, and a 1950s Bakelite TV.

The collection is the result of several months of work in partnership with the History of Science Museum, community donors, the development of Year Nine curriculum materials, and Year Ten pupil curators who designed the layout with HSM's Chris Parkin.

Highlighting the event is Powell's appearance, who was a member of the Oxford band Unbelievable Truth.

He will share about music technology, his experiences, and work.

There will be a talk and Q&A with Powell, an official unveiling of the exhibit, and a performance by Year 10 musicians with the musician.

The Rumble Museum, a key element of Cheney School managed by educational charity The Iris Project, is the only Arts Council accredited museum located throughout the state school.

Its activities range from incorporating collections into curriculum lessons to organising large community festivals, providing a rich learning environment for the interested.

The museum plans to continue its engaging offerings to the community with this new exhibition.
