A group of fundraisers have recreated a TV gameshow to raise more than £4,500 for charity.

The group reproduced 'It's a Knockout' in order to raise funds for Oxford United in the Community and its countywide programmes.

The event was organised by Gregory Surveyors and saw eight teams take part in a day of activities as they completed an assault course, tried paddleboarding and raft building, and participated in an ice bath challenge at Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa.

Oxford United in the Community is the charity of the football club, and the money its receives supports it in its mission to create happier, healthier and better-connected communities by harnessing the power of football and the club badge.

Matt Everett, CEO of Oxford United in the Community, said: "Support we receive from donors and fundraisers plays a significant role in our work inspiring people to become the best version of themselves.

"Funds raised through It’s a Knockout will make a genuine difference to our programme output and the people we engage through our football-based programmes."

He added: "We’d like to thank the team at Gregory Surveyors for organising the event and choosing Oxford United in the Community as its charity of choice this year.

"The day was well attended with plenty of fun and laughter.

“The positive impact our work has on people stretches far beyond the perimeters of the football field.

"Our team are operational in schools, community centres and prisons working with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to help people become the best version of themselves.”

Funds were raised through entry fees, a raffle and silent auction with items including a signed men’s and women’s first team shirt and a Wembley programme signed by manager Des Buckingham up for grabs.

The team from Cherry Picked Residential - one of the day’s sponsors - ended the event with the most points, which saw them scoop the top prize.

Their victory was celebrated with a trophy, presented by the club captain Elliott Moore.

Louise Gregory of Gregory Surveyors said: “It was a wonderful day, and we were so pleased to see lots of businesses and professionals from the Oxfordshire community come together.

"Oxford United in the Community does amazing work locally and everyone enjoyed raising awareness and funds of their work.

"We’re already looking forward to planning next year’s event."

Other teams participating on the day, aside from Gregory Surveyors and Cherry Picked Residential, included Trueman’s Solicitors, Laughtons Luxury Toilet Hire, Folan Brookes Financial Consultants, Oxford United Women and RWK Goodman.
