A hairdressers and barbers in Kidlington has raised more than £2,500 for Cancer Research. 

On Saturday (June 29), Central Hair and Barber held a cake sale and offered hair braiding and children's tattoos to raise money.

The team also ran a Race for Life on Sunday (June 30). 

So far the total amount raised is £2,573.

Claire Ring, who has owed the shop for 26 years, said: "The idea came from Charlotte, one of my team members.

"It started with us all signing up for the Race for Life.

"Then the girls said about doing something to raise more money."

She continued: "I love the support we get from the community.

"Some of the customers have been coming to the shop for 26 years plus, and I have customers that I have been personally cutting for over 30 years.

"All proceeds are going to Cancer Research, without taking out costs as we want everything raised to go to the charity.

"The turnout was amazing (on Sunday), there were so many generous donations from lots of lovely people."
