An Oxford school student has been selected as one of the top 20 basketball players in the country for his age group.

Year 10 Cheney School student Elijah Kandola, who plays for Oxford Elite, has made Oxfordshire sporting history by being chosen in Basketball England's Pathway for boys under 15.

He is the first in Oxfordshire to secure such a distinction and will now represent the South of England at the Aspire All Star Super Regions Tournament in Manchester from July 5-7.
