More than 30 countries were represented at a food festival in Didcot last week.
The event, held at The Meadows Care Home on June 28, attracted residents, their families, community members and the mayor of Didcot, councillor Andrew Jones.
The event began with refreshments and an selection of cakes from Wales, Romania, Poland, and other countries.
Later, the party moved into the garden for a food festival with food including matumbu from Zimbabwe and Nigeria, chicken korma and chilli chicken from India, kaeng hong le from Thailand, goat stew from the Philippines and chakalaka from South Africa.
The event was suggested when the team discovered that employees and residents from the care home come from more than 30 countries and cultures,
Members of the home's workforce have lived in countries including Wales, Poland, Nigeria, Thailand, and the Philippines.
Many residents, too, have travelled extensively or were born in countries such as Jamaica, Ghana, and America.
Home manager Tobias Matonhodze, who is from Zimbabwe, said: "Wow, what a day.
"Everyone, especially our activities co-ordinator, Megan Humphries, went above and beyond to put on a fantastic cultural feast and activity day.
"I am so happy that we have taken the time to celebrate our cultures with residents, their families, and visitors from the local community."
"We will definitely be making this an annual event.”
