JUSTIN WHITE, 44, of Buttercup Square, Oxford, pleaded guilty to stealing £167.50 worth of Emma Hardy beauty products from M&S in Westgate Shopping Centre, Oxford on April 15 this year, an unknown of beauty products from John Lewis on the same day, and £123 worth of sunglasses – namely five pairs, from Boots in Cornmarket Street on the same day. He also pleaded guilty to one count of failing to surrender to court/police bail on May 2 this year. He was given a one-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, as well as 18 days of rehabilitation activity. He will also need to provide samples for drug testing for 12 months. There were no orders for costs.
JAMES ANDREWS, 34, of Slade Close, Headington, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft of a pedal cycle. On April 14, he stole a £600 bike in Oxford, on April 17 he stole a £150 bike from Oxford, and on April 29 he stole a £209 bike from Oxford. He was given a community order to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activity days and was made subject to electronic monitoring and a curfew. He was also ordered to pay £750 in compensation. There were no other orders for costs.
JUNIOR AVERILLO, 36, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis, in Banbury on May 17 this year, one count of criminal damage on May 17 after damaging plants and pots to the value of £378 belonging to Lidl in Banbury, one count of common assault of an emergency worker, a police officer on May 17, one count of assault by beating on the same day of a man, one count of stealing bottles of alcohol and mixers to the value of £73.52 from Lidl on the same day, and one count of assault by beating on a woman on the same day. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker in Banbury, namely police officers, on May 9 by beating. He was jailed for 24 weeks. There were court costs of £85 and a forfeiture and destruction order made for the drugs.
ALAN HOLLAND, 27, of Foxglove End, North Leigh, pleaded guilty to driving with third party insurance and without a valid licence in Banbury on January 12 this year. He was disqualified from driving for six months and fined £640. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £256.
KUEN TAM, 52, of Terrett Avenue, Headington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for testing in Abingdon on May 15 this year after being suspected of having committed a road traffic offence. He was given a community order to abstain from alcohol for 90 days and was made subject to a curfew. He will also need to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 12 months, reduced by three months. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
TOMMY HOLMES, 23, of Saunders Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to one count of assault of an emergency worker, namely a police officer, on October 19 last year. He was fined £833. There were court costs of £85.
