SEVEN prisoners have appeared in court accused or robbing an wounding a man inside HMP Bullingdon, near Bicester.

Omar Chaudhry, 29, Ahrfan Hussain, 44, Aqib Jawaid, 26, Gavin Garwood, 34, Vladyslav Yakymchuk, 29, Ryan Hodge, 31, and Zain Shah, 24 have all be charged with one count of robbery and one count of wounding/inflicting grievously bodily harm without intent.

Garwood, Hodge, and Shah have also been charged with unauthorised possession in prison of a knife of an offensive weapon.

Garwood alleged had a tin in a sock, Hodge allegedly had a pair of tweezers with razor blades inserted, and Shah allegedly had a flick knife.

It is alleged that the seven men, on December 11, 2022, robbed Royston Perry of clothing, food, and toiletries to the value of £7,500.

They are also allegedly to have unlawfully and maliciously wounded Mr Perry on the same day.

The seven defendants appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (June 25) for their first hearing.

All seven, bar Chaudry, are now next due to appear at Oxford Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Tuesday, July 23.

Chaudry is due for his next hearing at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 26.

If guilty, the men could face a further custodial term of imprisonment or/and a fine.
