A man from Bicester has taken home an impressive four gold medals at a recent track and field event. 

David Kuester, of Bicester Athletics Club, came first in the male 80 plus age group in hammer, discus, shot putt and javelin at the 2024 Midland Masters (MMAC) Track and Field Championships. 

The event took place at the Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton on Sunday (June 23).

Mr Kuester achieved a throw of 30.32m for the hammer throw, 6.81m for the shot putt, 18.06. in the discus and 10.65m in the javelin, achieving first place in all categories.

Mr Kuester described the results as "encouraging", despite the distances not as he had hoped for due to his continuing shoulder injury. 

He has been a competing athlete for more than 55 years and a qualified track and field coach since 1976.
