Blenheim Palace's landscape is set to undergo its biggest change in over a century.
Head gardener Andy Mills is drawing on the garden’s extensive heritage to bring rediscovered treasures to the fore for visitors.
Created over the centuries by garden designers such as Henry Wise and Achille Duchêne, Blenheim Palace’s formal gardens capture different horticultural styles from across the ages.
This summer, visitors can enjoy the water terraces, the Duke's private Italian garden, the Secret Garden, the Churchill Memorial Garden and the Rose Garden.
As part of Mr Mills’ transformation project, the Secret Garden is being brought back to life to restore the tranquillity the 10th Duke originally strived for.
The Rose Garden is not only coming into flower, but this summer boasts a display of exotics including agaves, yuccas and hardy bananas.
Other summer garden highlights at Blenheim this summer include a tribute to the Battle of Blenheim soldiers through a formation of red lobelias in the Italian Garden, a recreated path from the Temple of Diana to the Rose Garden, and the rejuvenated Butterfly House with an array of exotic plants.
Additionally, visitors can also delve into the Walled Garden's insights about bees and other pollinators in the all-new Rowse Honey Hive.
From July 10 to September 9, the palace will also showcase a selection of images from the International Garden Photographer of the Year.
