First year juniors at Sandhills Primary School at Headington, Oxford, organised a competition day for younger pupils.
The older children had been taking part in an eight-week maths project in 1986.
Teacher Margaret Armitage explained: “They decided to organise fun competition games, including marbles and tiddlywinks.”

Taking it in turns to see how many skips they could do were, left to right, Lorraine Juggins, Laura Wilson, Andrew Comley, Louise Ferrall, Lucy Moffat and Karen Surrage.
Kerry Minion is now headteacher of Sandhills Community Primary School.
