AN Oxford transport company has investigated a collision between a bus and a car after a victim claimed the bus driver left the scene without speaking to them.

The incident took place at the Kidlington roundabout near the Sainsbury's supermarket on Wednesday (June 19) at about 7.45am.

The driver of the car, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "They’ve admitted they crashed which is great for the report to the police as the driver at the time was oblivious to what he had done.

"The bus driver fled the scene and didn’t stop until I had caught up with him at the train station.

"When he eventually got off the bus he refused to give his details and became aggressive towards me which left me trembling."

Stagecoach West has now confirmed that a crash took place but denied the bus driver did anything wrong.

Chris Hanson, Stagecoach West managing director said:  “We can confirm that a minor incident occurred near the Kidlington roundabout at around 7.45am on Wednesday morning.

"An attempt to gather details from the driver involved took place and, having viewed CCTV, we are satisfied the correct procedures were followed.

“Our Customer Services team is available to handle any Stagecoach customer enquiries and they can be reached on 0345 241 8000.”

Thames Valley Police has been contacted for updated comment on the incident.
