Wallingford pub up for 'Great British Pub Of The Year 2024'

The prestigious awards are highly respected in the food and drink industry. A nomination, let alone a win, can often be seen adorning the inside of any pub nominated.

Judges said they received “an incredible number of entries” - but have whittled them down to the very best across the country.

This year, a cosy little spot in Oxfordshire was nominated for 'best sustainable pub'.

The Dolphin is a family-friendly, traditional pub located in the heart of Wallingford, Oxfordshire. 

Their website reads: "We offer a great pub menu with lots of classic favourites at fantastic value for money prices, all freshly prepared to your individual order!  Every Sunday from 12:30-2pm we serve a family-friendly Sunday Lunch, with good-sized plated roasts and other choices available too.

"There is always a great selection of cask ales including Morland Original and old Speckled Hen, Greene King IPA and our own house ale The Dolly. We also have Kronenbourg, Fosters and Stella on tap plus a selection of fine wines and a great range of gins. We love live sports and have Sky Sports and BT Sports on 2 large screen TVs."
