A THIEF has been jailed for numerous thefts from shops in Oxford.
Liam Smith, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to a year and four months imprisonment after pleading guilty to 35 counts of shoplifting at Oxford Crown Court on June 11.

The 35-year-old stole selected bottles of alcohol from Tesco Express in Cowley Road, Asda Living Oxford at Templar Shopping Park on Between Towns Road, and Sainsbury’s on Heyford Hill Roundabout on multiple occasions between September last year and May 15 this year.
Investigating officer PC Lisa Ordidge said: “This is just one example of the hard work and dedication from Thames Valley Police our operation to tackle shoplifting.
"We are committed to working hard to support our retail community and shall continue to bring offenders to justice.”
