Parliamentary candidates for the Wantage constituency will set out their environmental plans at an event on Friday.

Organised by the Churches in the Churn Benefice villages and the Bioabundance Community Interest Company, it is scheduled for June 21 from 6.30pm to 8pm at St Andrews Church in East Hagbourne.

The parliamentary hopefuls will discuss their plans for tackling the ongoing climate crisis.

The Liberal Democrats, Labour and the Green Party have confirmed attendance, while responses from the other three parties are still pending.

Each candidate will answer the question 'what is your policy to take action to safeguard our environment for present and future generations?'

Subsequently, candidates will take no more than five minutes to respond, and will then be open to questions.

Questions on environmental issues will be requested in advance and circulated to candidates prior to the meeting.
