Multiple firefighters were called to reports of smoke coming from a portaloo in a village.
The crews were called to the fire in Wykham Lane in Bodicote near Banbury on Tuesday evening (June 18).
The crews from Banbury and Deddington found the toilet "well alight".
Susan Dowers was at Bodicote Cemetery with her husband Gary laying flowers when they spotted smoke coming from over the hedge.
Ms Dowers said: "When we arrived at around 5.50pm it smelt of smoke.

"We saw some smoke a while later and it was getting very thick and black.
"I walked round to the field to check out the fire and I rang the fire brigade."
Mrs Dowers praised the quick response of the fire brigade, adding: "The fire brigade were very quick to respond - two arrived within a few minutes.
"Another half hour, and that hedge could have caught fire and spread.
"I’m feeling very asthmatic today as smoke got down me."
A spokesman for Oxfordshire County Council said: "Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were called at 6.26pm yesterday evening to Wykham Lane in Bodicote.

"Two fire engines from Banbury and Deddington were sent to the scene and found a portaloo well alight.
"The crews ensured the fire didn’t spread any further to the surrounding area whilst it burned itself out.
"Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue left the scene at 6.39pm."
Thames Valley Police has been contacted for comment.
