A school for children with additional needs has been boosted by a donation of £1,500.

Northern House Academy, in Oxford, has bought ‘coding robots’ following the donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes through its Community Fund scheme.

Northern House Academy caters to the needs of children with social, emotional, and mental health requirements.

The robots will help the students to work on their problem-solving abilities, directional language skills, and programming skills.

Headteacher Ricky Stevens said: "We would like to thank Barratt and David Wilson Homes for the very generous donation.

"Granting our students access to these coding robots is an exciting and enjoyable approach to teaching that promises to make a significant positive impact.

“We face the challenge of raising funds for additional teaching resources. Our students often thrive when presented with innovative teaching methods, as these help to engage and inspire them effectively.

“These coding robots come in three different variations, each offering a unique level of complexity. They will provide invaluable support to our students during their educational journey at Northern House Academy.”

Managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, Campbell Gregg, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to support Northern House Academy through our recent donation.

"We believe that by contributing to educational initiatives, we can help create a brighter future for students and the wider community."
