Banbury Rugby Club is set to give its members and rugby fans a chance to reminisce when it hosts its first Memorabilia Days.

As the club approaches its centenary season, staff have been gathering artefacts for display and inclusion in the centenary book, 'One Club, One Hundred Years'.

The event will run from midday to 10pm on June 26, and 10am to 10pm on June 27 in the clubhouse, and invites people to bring in their own items.

The club is looking for any items related to its 99-year-old history, from photographs and programmes to clothing and press cuttings, and already has more than 200 programmes and pictures dating back to 1927.

The aim is to collect and collate all the club's first team results from 1925 to date, a task the club thinks will take three to five years, and to create a small heritage collection at the club as a permanent addition to its facilities.

The club said it will be happy to look at everything on these two days and, where appropriate, photograph or scan the items with a view to adding them to either the book or a permanent display.

People who are unable to attend but would like to contribute can contact the club via email at centenary@banburyrufc.co.uk.

The Banbury Museum has also offered to display a selection of the club's artefacts during the summer.
