A paramedic from Wantage is set to ride the length of the UK on a motorbike in memory of his mum.

Matt Luker will be joined by 40 other riders as they travel 1,000 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats, without a stop, for the Longest Day Challenge on June 20 - the longest day of the year.

Mr Luker, who is based at Abingdon Hospital, lost his mum, Gaye Reynolds, to cancer when she was 67.

As a result, he is aiming to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK, and has already raised £1,745.

As part of the challenge, the riders are not allowed to use any motorways and their bikes cannot cost more than £600.
