A TRIAL date has been set for a man charged with three counts of attempted robbery.

William Francis-Webb, of Manor Road, Wantage, appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday (June 13) charged with three counts of attempted robbery and one count of possession of a bladed article.

The 30-year-old is accused of attempting to rob Spar news agents till in Wallingford Street, Wantage on May 12, as well as a Betfred till and a Coral bookmakers till.

He is also accused of being in possession of a kitchen knife.

Francis-Webb was not asked to enter his plea but a trial date has been placed on the warned list for December 16.

It is estimated to take two days.

Francis-Webb is next due in court August 20.
