A DRIVER has avoided disqualification for drug driving after accidentally eating a cake laced with cannabis.
Maissam Amiri, of Willoughby Avenue, Uxbridge, was caught drug driving on the M40 southbound near Wheatley on July 20 last year.
The 20-year-old was stopped in his white Toyota Prius and completed a roadside test where officers from 5.4 micrograms of drug per litre of blood.

He appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on May 29 where he pleaded guilty but told the hearing that he had not released the cake he had consumed was laced.
Amiri was fined £120 but he avoided disqualification due to ‘special reasons’ – the accidental consumption.
There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £48.
