An update has been given on trees which have caused a health and safety risk at Oxford Rail Station.

Tree roots have damaged the pavement outside of the station and several bus stops directly outside have been shut.

The Oxford Mail reported on Wednesday, May 29, that several bus stops outside the railway station would close due to health and safety fears regarding trees in the area.

Now Oxford Bus Company have acknowledged the issue and confirmed that several temporary bus stops are currently being used.

“We’d like to reassure passengers that all our services are running to our usual timetables during this time.”

A GWR spokesperson added: “The situation with tree roots causing damage to the pavement outside the station is worsening, so we have put measures in place for the safety of customers.
