The renowned Moving Parts Theatre Company are bringing their splendid outdoor rendition of Much Ado About Nothing to Oxford.
The performance in Oxford will take place on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
Set in the picturesque gardens of Worcester College, with performances at 2pm and 6.30pm, the company encourage you to pack a picnic and join them for this spectacular event.
Following on from their triumphant tour of Macbeth, the Company is well-known for taking fresh perspectives on classics, often using music as an additional 'character'.
This musical version of one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies, adapted to a 1960s Sicilian setting, sees Beatrice determined not to be “overmastered”
Margaret and Borachio, traditionally minor characters, will take centre stage, manipulating their 'superiors' through deception and trickery.
Original music composed by Tamara Douglas-Morris, inspired by Sicilian Tarantella and Italian 1960s pop, underlines the production.
The Moving Parts Theatre Company energised audiences last year with their Macbeth performances.
One keen spectator said: "Oh how much we loved your performance!
"Looking forward to whatever you perform next year already."
Another said: "Magnificent performance last night in the beautiful evening sunshine!
"Well done to a terrific cast!"
The Guy With The Quill said: "A masterclass in performance … A perfectly paced, innovative and gripping production."
