A conservation hub has been opened by star wildlife photographer, Hamza Yassin.

The hub was officially launched on June 8 at Waddesdon Manor, a National Trust property in Buckinghamshire.

The aim is to provide an engaging space for visitors to explore the rich wildlife, natural habitats, and conservation initiatives.

The event drew a crowd of fans, who were treated to meet-and-greet sessions and an enlightening talk by the nature enthusiast and wildlife cameraman, Hamza Yassin.

The renowned presenter expressed his delight to be part of the project.

Mr Yassin said: "I am thrilled to be part of this exciting new initiative.

"The Conservation Hub at Waddesdon Manor is a testament to the importance of nurturing our natural habitats and educating the next generation about the wonders of wildlife."

Dickon Leigh-Wood, sustainability lead at Waddesdon Manor further outlined the goals of the hub.

Mr Leigh-Wood said: "We are excited to launch the Conservation Hub for our visitors.

"It provides a unique and enriching opportunity to learn about our conservation efforts and engage in new ways with the natural beauty that Waddesdon has to offer.

"Supporting biodiversity and habitats is vital to us all, and the balance of the planet.

"We can all play a part, and we’re hoping that this will inspire people to get involved in whatever way they can."

Visitors can look forward to a multitude of activities hosted by the Conservation Hub, inclusive of interactive workshops, wildlife camera streams, and nature trails.

They will also have the opportunity to meet with the staff and volunteers to gather insights about sustainability initiatives and other conservation endeavours materialising in the manor and the grounds of the Waddeston Estate.

The opening of the hub coincides with Flights of Fancy, Waddesdon Manor's bird-themed celebration extending from May 22 to October 27.

It features a wide variety of exhibits and activities, ranging from the first-ever exhibition showcasing Louis-Denis Armand's porcelain, paintings, and drawings, to outdoor events accentuating avian-themed art installations.

The Conservation Hub's opening also marks the launch of the Waddesdon Bird Spotters Guide.

Visitors are encouraged to pick up a copy and discover the various species of birds inhabiting the manor’s grounds.

The project signifies Waddesdon Manor's commitment towards environmental conservation and education, encouraging people of all ages to participate and experience the wonders of nature.

The initiative is funded by Rothschild Foundation as part of its environmental funding programmes.
