A DRIVER has been fined after being caught speeding on the motorway.
Alistair Thompson, of Weirs Lane, Oxford, was caught on November 20 last year speeding on the M1 near Wakefield.
The 59-year-old was caught by an automatic speed camera travelling between junctions 41 and 40 southbound exceeding the 70mph speed limit.

He was recorded as driving at a speed of 81mph.
Thompson was charged under the Road Traffic Offenders Act and appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on June 4 where he pleaded guilty.
The driver was fined £40 for the offence and had three penalty points added to his driving record.
There were also court costs of £90 and a victim surcharge of £16.
The total amount is £146.
