A global asset management firm has provided an update on the progress it has made with climate mitigation strategies at its office in Henley.

Invesco's announcement marks Great Big Green Week, which runs from June 8-16 and is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

The Oxfordshire site is powered by 100 per cent renewable gas and electricity, including electricity generated by site‑based solar panels.

It also has four beehives, insect hotels, a flower garden and 10 fruit-producing trees.

These hives house more than 70,000 bees each, and in 2023 produced 356 jars of honey.

Louise Gow, global health and safety environmental manager at Invesco, said: "Our Henley site serves as an inspiration with its environmental initiatives and commitment to conserving biodiversity, and Invesco continues to adopt and enhance sustainable practices throughout our corporate properties globally."

In September 2023, Invesco announced a partnership with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, supporting the UK's largest wetland regeneration project.

Invesco employees from the company's Henley and London offices frequently volunteer at the trust's London Wetlands Centre, restoring and maintaining areas of the site to support the array of wetland plants and animals.

Additionally, both the Henley and London offices partner with Fruitful Office.

Through this they provide fruit baskets for employees, and for every basket purchased a fruit tree is planted in Malawi.
