THIS was a street market with a 17th century theme but no-one really cared if the costumes were earlier or later.

The market had plenty of stalls with a range of goods and other attractions, including an ox roast and Morris dancing.

The following day, Roundheads and Cavaliers gathered for a skirmish organised by the English Civil War Society.
Although the village did not take part in the Civil War, the opposing groups are reputed to have stopped in Blewbury on their way to Newbury, where they fought the Battle of Donnington.
