The sun shone on foodies visiting a new food festival in Abingdon.

Abingdon Events Partnership organised the event on Sunday, inviting local food producers to set up stalls on the site at Rye Farm Meadow.

The weather stayed dry for the event which featured chefs demonstrating their favourite recipes.

Heather Brown, of Abingdon Events Partnership, said the organisation paid Vale of White Horse District Council a licence fee to stage the one-day festival.

Jenny Allsopp, of Berry Bakery in Sutton Courtenay, invited festivalgoers to buy her brownies.

She said: "I'm a local business and customers know me so this festival is perfect for me.

"It's a fantastic riverside location and this is the sort of event people like to come to - especially when the sun is out."
