A car has been seized in a village after its car tax expired around five months ago.

Officers stopped a Ford Fiesta near Wheatley today (Tuesday, July 4) and found that the vehicle excise licence had expired.

The car was seized by the officers who also checked several trailers being towed into the Oxford services.

The examinations showed that the vehicles were carrying the correct licence and being driven by the right individuals.

A Thames Valley Police statement said: "PCs Dollery and Jenkins seized this Ford Fiesta near Wheatley today as the VEL expired around five months ago.

"The officers also examined several trailers being towed into Oxford services, checks showed they were in order and in the correct hands."
