Oxford Bus Company welcomed a special guest to its Cowley depot this month ahead of the launch of a city wide art trail.

Roxy - a sculpture set for an appearance at OxTrail 2024 - is expected to engage thousands of tourists and residents when the trail starts on Saturday, July 6.

The visit was part of Oxford Bus Company's support of the free event that will display life-sized and mini oxen sculptures, all uniquely designed, across the city this summer.

After the eight-week citywide event, each sculpture will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going directly to Sobell House Hospice.

The charity provides palliative care and support to around 3,000 adult patients a year as well as their families, friends, and carers.

Luke Marion, Oxford Bus Company managing director, said: "OxTrail is a really exciting event which we are hoping will encourage people to enjoy exploring Oxford city this summer, and raise lots of money for Sobell House at the same time.

“It supports a cause close to the hearts of many people across the county, and we’re looking forward to seeing the sculptures on the streets."

He added: "Supporting local causes that have a positive impact on people’s lives is an important aspect of our operation, and we'll have trail maps available at our visitor information point during the event."
