Oxford-born actress Florence Pugh has gone viral after taking part in a social media interview for the promotion of a new epic science fiction film.

Ms Pugh, 28, was being filmed alongside Zendaya ahead of the release of the Dune: Part Two film produced by Denis Villeneuve.

And the Parkdean Resorts  has revealed it has seen an an 8,900 per cent increase in interest for those visiting Bembridge Beach in the Isle of Wight after the interview snippet went viral on TikTok.

In the KISS FM interview, Ms Pugh was asked what UK beach she would take Zendaya to.

After Zendaya responded that she had visited a few UK beaches that were "pebbly", Ms Pugh said Bembridge Beach was where she would take her.

Ms Pugh added: “There are all these dunes that are right behind the beach, and it’s really cool and weird, and yeah, they’re beautiful. So, I’ll take you there.”

She even said they could go on Hovertravel's hovercraft together. 

"It only takes like a few minutes to get across," she said.

Since the video has gone viral, Parkdean Resorts has revealed that searches for the location have skyrocketed, with Google searches for ‘Bembridge Beach’ up 8,900 per cent.

Searches for Bembridge have also increased, with the town experiencing an uplift in demand of 66 per cent.

Ms Pugh has previously spoken about her younger years working in her dad’s restaurants in Oxford.

All three of her father Clinton Pugh's businesses - Café CoCo, Kaz Bar and Café Tarifa - are in Cowley Road.
