Rubbish including dumped household items such as a mattress and bags of waste have been left near a South Oxfordshire field in an act of fly-tipping.

Evidence from the scene has been obtained by police and will be passed to the South Oxfordshire District Council for further investigation.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson confirmed the fly-tipping was discovered on the Cuddesdon Road near Chiselhampton on June 2.

TVP advised the public to report fly-tipping to 999, if anyone sees it taking place, providing details of the exact location, a description of those responsible and any vehicles they are using.

A fly-tipping form is also available through the South Oxfordshire District Council website

The South Oxfordshire District Council's contractor Biffa can also be contacted by phone on 03000 610610 0 with text phone users adding 18001 before dialling.

Biffa can also be contacted by email at admin.southoxford@biffa.co.uk

Anyone who comes across fly-tipping should not remove anything from the site - because it will be needed for evidence in investigations.

If the incident occurs on public land, the council will open an investigation and arrange to remove the waste, however if dumping occurs on private land the landowner is tasked with removing any rubbish.
