A rare piece by a renowned Italian artist is set to be auctioned alongside a painting by pop culture icon Andy Warhol at an auction in Oxford.
Painter and stage designer Domenico Gnoli does not have many publicly available works due to his death at 36.
His painting, 'Man on the Beach' will go up for sale at Mallam Modern Arts Sale.
The two day auction, which will feature more than 800 lots, is to be held at Bocardo House, in Oxford, at 11am on June 12.
Max Fisher, head of design and post war British art at Mallams, said: "Sadly, due to Gnoli’s early death from cancer at just 36 not many of his works are now on public view with the majority in private collections in Italy.
"Mallams are delighted to be offering one of his works, entitled 'Man on the Beach' in our forthcoming sale alongside other items from the same private collection."
The auction will also feature 'Red Rose', a piece attributed to Andy Warhol.
It was gifted to Enid Boulting, the model and wife of film director Roy Boulting, by Otto Fenn, an old friend of Mr Warhol’s.
Another highlight is a signed photograph of Ms Boulting which was taken by Thomas Kilburn in 1961.
Prior to the sale, viewings are open to the public on June 7, 8, 10, and 11.
