Two men were arrested in Oxfordshire on suspicion of stealing chocolate and meat totalling almost £100.
During a patrol of the shops on Bell Street in Henley earlier this week, Thames Valley Police officer Victor Till was altered to the pair by a member of Sainsbury’s staff.
The officer intervened and both men were arrested having allegedly stolen almost £100 worth of chocolate and meat.

After being identified by the force, the suspects were revealed to have been involved in previous incidents.
The men received a total of five charges between them and were remanded to court.
A Thames Valley Police statement said: “This week, PC Victor Till of the Henley Neighbourhood Team was patrolling retail outlets in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire when he was alerted by a member of the public to the suspicious actions of two males within Sainsbury’s on Bell Street.
“He intervened and arrested them both as they stole almost £100 worth of meat and chocolate.

“The offenders were identified as having been involved in previous incidents and were dealt with for those offences also.
“From speaking with the public we understand the impact Retail Crime has on retailers and the wider community.
“We continue to be relentless in our pursuit of offenders and continue to work with retailers to make the South and Vale LPA as hard as possible for criminals to offend in.”
